Osteopathy

Incorporating scientific knowledge with manual therapy that focuses on the body as a dynamic, functional whole, not just the injured or affected part.

What and how we treat

Osteopathic manual practitioners recognize the integrated nature of a person as a whole. They have a thorough understanding of how each structure in the body is interconnected and influences global function.

Osteopathy uses hands-on techniques to improve biomechanical movement, circulation, drainage, and nervous supply. Techniques include gentle pressure, stretching, and resistance.

Through osteopathic manual therapy techniques, in combination with other treatments or advice, your clinician works to maintain, improve and restore the normal physiological function of the body's structures and systems.

Osteopathy is known for treating a wide range of health problems including headaches, pregnancy-related complaints, postural problems, digestive complaints, and constipation.

Treatment Modalities

Craniosacral Therapy

Light touch is used to promote the freedom of cranial sutures, membranes, pelvis and associated structures.

Visceral Mobilization

Adhesion and restriction of internal organs creates compensation patterns throughout the body. By releasing these we can improve pain and dysfunction.

Joint Mobilization

Skilled movement of joints aimed to improve flexibility, mobility, and muscle activity to help reduce pain.

Soft Tissue Mobilization

Gentle hands-on techniques are used to address restrictions and adhesions in your muscles, ligaments, and fascia.

Education

Understand what’s happening in your body and receive advice to take your care into your own hands.

Exercises

Use prescribed movement and exercises to help correct the issue creating your complaint or prevent it from returning.
